In all fairness, will you admit your customers will be "stuck" in AVS language land?

The language is called "V", and yes I admit people would be stuck in it. You can write your own data and processing modules in C/C++/Fortran or whatever, but the main "network" is in V. Like I said, this started on UNIX a long time ago - it had nothing to do with MS.

This product was not designed for the hard-core programmer. It was designed for technical people who needed data visualization. It is used a lot in universities, oil and gas exploration, medical imaging, weather forecasting, etc. It is certainly not the "be all, end all", which is why we are starting on new products based on COM/C++ and Java/JavaBeans.

Right up MS's alley.

Hmmm, stuck in a single language. That sounds familiar...stuck with the limitations of a single language, at the mercy of a single company...where have I heard this before?

Oh, yeah. Java and Sun.
