I like historical perspective. It really shows progress...or lack thereof. You know, I'm fond of saying I'm a numbers guy. So let's strip away all the BS real quick here. When Obama took office at the end of Jan'09, here's where things stood.
* Civilian Labor Force = 154236
* Civilian Employment = 142187
= Employment Rate = 92.2%
= Unemployment Rate = 7.8%

Now that Obama has had time to experiment along with Bernanke on all the Keynesian tricks in the book, here's where we are now:
* Civilian Labor Force = 154871
* Civilian Employment = 142065
= Employment Rate = 91.7%
= Unemployment Rate = 8.3%

Exactly where is the recovery? The bottom line numbers make it really hard to believe there's any recovery. Remember that to pay taxes, people must be employed. If there aren't enough people paying taxes, then that means larger deficits and debt, lower consumer spending, lower GDP, and a vicious downward spiral. Where did you say this recovery is again? Oh yeah. The top 1% are raking it in and the 99% have all the jobs at Burger King that they want.

Oh, and I got these numbers from the Burea of Labor Statistics. So don't shoot the messenger. No bloggers in those numbers above. Just the facts, ma'am.
