2 Dead and 14 Shot In Mass North Miami Shooting (Video) Posted by Jim Hoft on Saturday, March 31, 2012, 3:45 PM Don’t look for any rallies for these victims– Fourteen people were shot last night including a 5 year-old girl and 2 are dead following a mass shooting outside a funeral home in North Miami. WSVN reported: CBS Local reported: Fourteen people have been shot and two are dead in what may be one of the worst mass shootings in South Florida history. The shooting took place around 9:30 p.m. outside the Funeraria Latina Emanuel funeral home at 14990 W. Dixie Highway Friday night. One person died on the scene while another died at the hospital. Their names have not been released. A 5-year-old girl was shot in the leg and hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital along with eleven other victims. The girl is listed in stable condition. Aventura Police Sgt. Chris Goranitis told CBS4 News the funeral was for 21-year-old Morvin Andre who died on March 16th, one day after he jumped from the 4th to 2nd floor of the Aventura Mall parking garage in an effort to escape pursuit by Bloomingdale’s loss prevention employees. The Medical Examiner ruled his death a suicide because he chose to jump rather than be apprehended, according to Goranitis. 7 California Youths Arrested for Racial Attack on Innocent Teen Posted by Jim Hoft on Saturday, March 31, 2012, 10:32 AM Seven black youths were arrested for a brutal attack on a 15 year-old Hispanic boy in California while he was walking home from school. The Bellingham Herald reported: Seven black teens have been arrested on suspicion that they committed a hate crime when they attacked a 15-year-old Hispanic boy while he was walking home from school in Southern California, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The March 14 beating in Palmdale was captured on video and posted on YouTube, but has since been removed from the site. The seven boys, ages 13 to 16, were arrested Wednesday for investigation of assault and committing a hate crime, Lt. Don Ford said. The attack happened near Cactus Middle School, but Ford didn’t know if any of the teens involved were students there. The video shows as many as 10 boys surrounding the victim and challenging him to a fight. The suspects then began hitting the teen while others watched. During the beating, the teens made racially derogatory statements that were captured on the video, Ford said. After the victim fell to the ground, the assailants kicked him multiple times in the head, knocked out several teeth and left shoe impressions on his skin, Ford said.
