I think poor folks voting for rich folks is less about poor folks voting for rich folks, then it is about social issues. The folks who vote republican, and who are poor, are tied up in the God, guns and vaginas block- insert God into government, carry your guns everywhere, and monitor all vaginas. Of course, I exaggerate about the vaginas- maybe only monitor most vaginas... I think the fact that they end up supporting policies that help the wealthy is incidental to their purist social policies- which they obviously value above their economic health.
