The MB have learned a kind of institutional caution in the service of a goal which is every bit as extreme as that of the Salafis. Still, after you try to kill Nasser, and he survives and puts you into concentration camps, you remember a certain lesson in caution. But what the NYT is too stupid to understand is that caution does not equal moderation. So they are feeling their way. All signs are promising, it looks like they think the time is right for a complete Islamist takeover.
