No problem with the distinction - but if we're talking the cost of health care being too high and Medicare is a HUGE part of that cost and getting higher, then you darn well better bring it into the discussion. Some get stuck in addressing segmented little aspects of the bigger picture. Health care is a big multifaceted problem.

That's exactly what you are doing. If we as society (government) place limits on what we spend, some people will by definition die at a younger age. I have no problem with that - but Palin did and rather than talk honestly about the problem she used it as a political advantage.
