Yes.

I sometimes just paste in to raw text mode.

If that's not going to work well for a particular post (say I want to preserve links, or include a picture), than I typically paste in to the normal editor. Erase one or two out of place or unwanted elements, go to raw text mode, go back to the regular editor, and then I can fix the rest.

Sometime I have to edit some codes directly in raw text mode, but usually the method mentioned above will work.
