That was just another of Obama's Jimmy Carter moments similar to Carter telling America to put sweaters on and lower the thermostat. Displaying a smug smile, Obama pronounced that if only stupid Americans properly inflated their tires and got routine tune-ups (a good idea in and of itself), they could save as much oil as could be produced through off-shore drilling and exploiting oil shale deposits. These deposits are estimated to be three times that of Saudi Arabia.

I saw him say it! The jackleg president turns into auto mechanic! Problem is ... there's just not much to tune up on today's vehicles. Not like when we changed plugs, condenser, and points every few thousand miles ....... back in the muscle car days of the 60's. Inflating tires will help minimally .... I think it does more for the life of the tires than for the gas mileage .... The arrogant jackass wouldn't know a spark plug from a carburetor.
