There is a big need to revise education systems top to bottom and get rid of teacher unions. It is admirable but pathetic the notion that everyone should be educated to the Ph.D level at taxpayer expense.

Amen!! But it goes more to halting to collective bargaining for public unions. Even FDR prohibited collective bargaining for public unions. Public unions are different from private unions in that the membership has the ability to vote for political representatives that will grant their collective bargaining demands. This is why public wages and benefits have far outpaced the wage growth of much of the private sector in recent years.

I think private unions are fine, but prefer employee ownership of a large percentage of the company's stock as a form of profit sharing. The company does well, so do the employees.. But private unions serve a valuable role in equalizing the balance of power between corporate management/shareholders and the work force.

Btw.. I see no need to educate everyone to college level, and certainly not to Phd... Technical and trade schools are just as important in training people to become productive and skilled workers. The goal is to not create dependency.. just a helping hand when times are rough..

Helping hand policies, not hand outs... So very logical that it pains me that those in power refuse to implement it.

Most of today's professions require a high school diploma. Then, little sectors requires deeply training on narrow subject:
Medical profession. The engineering profession. Legal profession.

The rest, anything that goes under Operations, i.e., making things happen, requires highschool diploma and training only.

Hotel management? Banking staff?
Sales? Business administration?

It's been my whole life idea. Recognized that at the age of 16. "revise education systems top to bottom".
