2. T-Bills are very overpriced.. But they are so short term that you don't make a lot of money without betting a lot more than I want or can bet. The bonds seem to be resting after a mini crash in prices, but, on the next rally, I will either buy long puts or buy a reverse fund. Not double reverse, as last time. That requires too big a move too soon.

i posted here a few times not to by double or triple or even reverse (inverse) etfs.

and that was before disaster with tvix.

you are not on the n j mafia. i am not trying to draw you back in (to this thread). but, i thought one day you might peak at your mail.

1. Gotta be short oil or gasoline or long puts at some point. The stuff is overpriced and ex a war with Iran, cannot sustain this price. That makes me prefer puts, where the risk is less than in a short. War could happen. I still like natural gas for the long haul, but am limiting my holdings to a third right now.

being old, slow and fat i didn't pull the trigger and load up further on energy stocks after reading this.

Wow, this is a major event. This was a great thread, without Knighty will it still be?

I've been reading this forum since 1996. About ten years before that, I heard a spoken word piece by Henry Rollins on WNUR, I think the name of it was liberal man meets conservative man. I remember it talked about how conservative man pounded the "concrete reality" into liberal man, eventually "war was declared" and afterwards, conservative man became liberal man. Liberal man became conservative man.

And lately, this formerly flitting thread which covered a wide array of subjects like poker, markets, baseball has suddenly become kind of a battleground

Hopefully, Knighty, you'll come out of your retirement!

Mike,

Don't let the bastards get you down, and don't let them drive you away.  You are one of the few regular contributors left that add value to this site.

This is your forum, and anyone who comes here soley with the purpose of unleashing personal attacks upon you, and disrupting the forum is as unwelcome as a fart at a formal dinner.  Engaging with these louts is useless as it only magnifies the noise level they have created and advances their agenda of disrupting the forum.  Such people can only be dealt with in the manner civilization has developed for centuries.  They must be socially ostracized until such a time as they can demonstrate the ability to behave properly in polite company.

The real estate thread was saved from a complete collapse in signal to noise last year by going moderated and banning one (1!!) poster.  It is the only viable response to trolls.

If you don't want the administrative burden of managing a moderated thread, I would be happy to set one up for you and wield the ban-stick.
