Without the Revolution we'd still be part of the British Empire. They oulawed slavery in its territories in 1833.

Slavery would have surely ended long before now, but it would have also likely been followed with an apartheid like system for a long period of time had it not been for the Civil War. One thing is clear though, and that is that slavery was a mistake and after it was established as a long standing institution, the path to recovery was gong to take many generations regardless of what corrective measures we took.
