<<<<The issue should have been about how to control costs >>>>

I completely agree - and if you can't tell that from my posting, you're not paying attention. That's why I keep asking how do you pay. I've asked it in almost every way I can - and people come back with some of the weirdest distractions imaginable. Sooooooo, let me ask you again how do you pay for the three trends that today are merging;

1) Demographics; Baby boomers starting to move into maximum medical cost years - with fewer contributors behind them.

2) Science; That allows us all to live longer - way longer after retirement. Also lets people live that would have previously died. Also allows infants to be born younger and younger (premature) and allll the cost associated with that.

3) Unfunded liabilities; Fewer people can afford health care insurance and fewer employers are offering it so more end up in the hospital on an emergency bases and get their care that way. Also children with major life long health requirements have huge cost over their lifetime - how do we solve that issue? The question in it's simplest term; You don't want to force people to have insurance - then who pays?
