It just seems to me an intelligent and pragmatic politician would have enough sense to postpone a project like this until after the election. Knowing the extent of the envy and hatred for the rich that abounds in the country.

I do too. I also detest the double standard that is shown depending on the Party involved.

There are plenty of very rich Democrats, but the media has no problem with their lifestyles. The Kennedy's and Kerry's come to mind off the top of my head.
