NBC issues apology for edited Zimmerman 911 Call

Apologize to their VIEWERS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!Where's the apology to George Zimmerman?

They call it an “error”? Give me a break.

This is strike 3.

Richard Jewel - won 500K.

The NBC GM trucks rigged to explode story.

and faked 911 tapes of the Trayvon shooting.

so NBC does it for gain then does an ‘oops’ when caught and apologizes? NBC, your apology is worthless.

NBC issues apology for edited Zimmerman 911 Call

April 03, 2012

NBC News issued an apology Tuesday for the way it handled the broadcasting of the 911 conversation between George Zimmerman and a police dispatcher in the Trayvon Martin case.

Following reports that NBC aired audio of the call was edited in a way that implied Zimmerman was racist, the network launched an internal investigation.

"During our investigation it became evident that there was an error made in the production process that we deeply regret. We will be taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future and apologize to our viewers," the network said in a statement cited by The Washington Post.

Zimmerman, a volunteer neighborhood watch leader, admits shooting and killing Martin one night in February, but he has said the shooting was in self-defense and justified under the state's "Stand Your Ground" law. He also said Martin attacked him, but that and other details of the case remain in question, as authorities continue to investigate whether to charge Zimmerman.

NBC's "Today" show ran the edited audio of Zimmerman's phone call to a police dispatcher, seeming to show Zimmerman saying, "This guy looks like he's up to no good … he looks black."

A transcript of the complete 911 call shows that Zimmerman said, "This guy looks like he's up to no good. Or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about."

The 911 officer responded saying, "OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?"

"He looks black," Zimmerman said.

The abridged conversation between Zimmerman and the dispatcher that NBC ran on March 27 has been blasted by media watchdog groups as misleading. Critics have said the edited version was made to suggest that Zimmerman targeted Martin because he was black ..

Hate fueled weekend beating says elderly man

03 Apr 2012 by Jennifer Steck, FOX Toledo News reporter
foxtoledo.com

TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Saturday afternoon around 4:45 p.m., 78-year-old Dallas Watts was walking home from the gas station at the corner of Starr and White in East Toledo.

He was confronted by six juveniles between the ages of 11 to 17, and for the next three or four minutes was nearly beaten up to death because of the color of his skin.

Watts is calling the weekend attack that occurred a block away from his Mason Street home a hate crime. During the attack, Watts says he brought up Trayvon Martin, the Florida teen killed by a block watch member Feb. 26.

"Why me? Remember Trayvon! Remember Trayvon!," Watts recalled. "I meant it as a peaceful way. What happened to Trayvon, I was not responsible for, I live 1,000 miles away! But they kept saying, 'Kill him! Kill Him! Kill him!' because I'm a white man."

On him at the time was a credit card, wallet, house keys and two bags of pork rinds for his dogs. The only thing stolen from him were the bags the pork rinds, leading Watts to believe the attack was racially charged.

"I have heard that there were some comments made, some racial comments made, but that we're still investigating," said Toledo police Sgt. Phil Toney. "We can't really confirm that one way or the other at this point. We still have not talked with Mr. Watts yet. We're going to be talking to him a little bit later."

Watts, who remains sore from the attack but will be fine physically, plans to file charges with the Ohio Attorney General.

Three of the six youths alleged to have been involved in the attack have been charged, Sgt. Toney said. Two of the unidentified youths were charged with one count each of robbery while another youth was charged with disorderly conduct.

The prefect spot for you know who. Maybe we can find him a member of the Black Panthers and a Middle Eastern terrorist as room mates. Turn it into a Brokeback Mountain sequel thriller.
