To make sure he doesn't steal anything, break into a house, vandalize anybody's vehicle, break into anybody's vehicle. Zimmerman was right to follow him. Anybody who snaps into a violent outrage isn't a reasonable person to begin with, proven to be the case here, and who knows what this criminal was capable of...killing somebody..tried to kill Zimmerman...stealing or burglary or vandelism...those are nothing crimes that he was clearly capable of compared to what he attempted to do and that is kill Zimmerman with his bare hands (30% of all murders are committed by hands and feet by FBI crime statistics) or by taking his firearm from him.

To be able to tell the cops where he went and what he did. As far as Zimmerman knew, Martin might h/b someone from out of the community looking for someplace to break in.
