Supreme Court Justices have family and friends just like everybody else. Public opinion isn't the foremost factor, but it's not irrelevant either.

It's all about what will influence Kennedy. Obama's remarks will just make him stronger in his decision to kick it out. But I am afraid he will "pull a Kennedy" and not kick out the whole bill. The four Liberals will stay the same, as will the other four conservatives.

I don't think public opinion will count for a wit with the court.

If liberals wants to change the constitution there is only one way and that is through constitutional amendments. It is a long and tedious endeavor. Liberals don;t want to attempt that for two reasons.

One is that they don't have the attention span for such things. They would barely get started and would have other issues and causes that would eclipse the effort.

Two Is they realize they would likely fail.
