That's a rather questionable assertion. Also its a rather irrelevant one. If it was true that a slight majority of Republicans were creationists (and I don't think it is), it would still be true that "there is no contradiction or conflict between believing that evolution is the driver of the diversity and creation of new species, and being a Republican".
