SAWS tends to cater more to higher end technology than RFMI which focuses more on the low-cost, higher volume, down-and-dirty markets for SAW devices.

As a result SAWS has a more established filter capability which tends to require more sophisitcated engineering. For example, SAWS would be a better vendor for a custom filter for a wideband CDMA or TV IF. RFMI concentrates their engineering more on resonators and frequency control elements which is where their expertise lies.

I've dealt with both companies in the past. Other than the different market focus these two companies are roughly similar in capability. I believe that SAWS may have some ties to Siemens although I'm unclear on this.
