Hi Meredith,

Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm impressed that you were able to obtain such a frank response simply by calling them up. Might I ask if you spoke to the person in investor relations, or to a specific individual?

Also (to all), as to the reason the shares are under such pressure lately, consider the following excerpt from the 11-02 S&P tear sheet:

"International sales, comprised mainly of export sales to the Far East, accounted for 69% of the total in FY 97, while UTR's largest customer, Western Digital Corp., accounted for 31% of revenues."

Both of these numbers are sobering in the near term.

I'm currently long 100 shares at around 26 (small account), and would like to load up more on this very well-managed company. Yet I suspect things may get worse before they get better.

Any comments welcome.

Dave

Meredith,

Makes sense and accounts for the pullback in the stock's price. The question is whether the pullback is overdone. I'll need to get out their 10-K,Q's and review them. My guess is that the disk drive sales are not a large part of their markets but that is just a guess which I need to confirm.....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
