He could stand his ground. Standing your ground though doesn't mean attacking. Zimmerman would have had to have attacked Martin and we don't have evidence of that.

People aren't going to be satisfied about this case, because we don't know what happened out of anyone's sight. We only have the evidence that we have.

If attacked - there is no preemptive defense in stand your ground - I thought he was going to assault me is not a defense.

They could have stood there toe to toe and chatted a bit - but the first punch is assault.

How is he supposed to know the intent of the one following him?
