On a per-market share basis, this does indeed look like it is the largest botnet in the world. X-D

Even more funny, disregading market share, this would be one monster of a botnet.

Indeed this would be a crowning achievement for Apple in combining a crappy operating system, weak support and update systems, with faith-based anti-virus and a remarkably inept userbase.

Apple distributes its own version of Java, previously bundled with OS X and presently as an optional download in Lion (OS X 10.7).

F-Secure chief research offiicer Mikko Hypponen via Twitter observed that with an installed base of about 45 million Macs, Flashback appears to have infected about 1% of the Macs out there, making it comparable in terms of reach to the Conficker.
