Well I don't know your brother. Here is what I do know: The state nearly elected (some claim it did elect, but the election was stolen from her) one of the most conservative republicans I know and they did elect a Republican governor 8 years later. In both of those elections, the only jurisdictions carried by the dems were Baltimore City, Prince George's County, which are majority african american and Montgomery County which is a Washington bedroom community. The rest of the state went Republican in those two elections including Southern Maryland.

Your brother is entitled to his opinion, but the facts are the facts.
