IMO, those two would make a quite acceptable ticket.

On one hand I agree, on the other I think that Ryan's house jobs are key positions that would be very helpful to the next POTUS...... Chairman of the Committee on Budget and member of Ways and Means Committee. It might be a waste to make him VP..... I'd rather see him as Speaker....

For this reason, expect the Prez and the press to attack Ryan mercilessly. Can't claim that he is dumb - so, the theme will be that he is an evil social Darwinist. That he eats old people.

...As I recall, his Medicare proposal was fairly mild. He wants to introduce some competition among private insurance companies for the Medicare business. Right now Medicare is administered, of course, also by private companies, but the contracts are awarded to a single company for each given location, as a monopoly.
