I love your post DocStone! I think the press has become not just unbelievable but in many cases nothing but a complete farce! I can picture groups of college yuppies ( savvy and astute yuppies on this thread excluded) sitting around sipping designer coffees waiting for someone to hand them some news! Too bad that a lot of them actually control REAL MONEY! That is why I had until recently been skeptical of a Y2K problem at all. The best press fiasco I can remember is when one time they actually DID get timely information. The only problem was they got information about the marines landing on the beach for a military humanitarian mission! Can you picture what all those Marines thought? Here they do a stealth beach landing only to find hundreds of reporters no doubt dressed in their tourist outfits taking their pictures as they landed on a beach that they had undoubtably considered potentially hostile! Unbelievable! Maybe it's a good thing that the press seems to be so confused all the time, It makes my dartboard stock pick method seem like a smarter way to go! Remember the WSJ actually did a dartboard contest against a bunch of money managers to my recollection... you wouldn't think it possible but there were times that the darts prevailed! So DocStone, your words ring true to me!
