Who ever said anything about unrestricted free markets? That's the problem with folks on this thread. Somehow you think free markets mean no regulation. Nothing could be further from the truth. Effective free markets REQUIRE effective regulations.

The Fed was not created to regulate free markets. That shows your complete lack of understanding. There are many different market regulations and agencies created for that purpose, not the least of which is the SEC.

Also, who every said anything about supply side economics? Sheesh, you make a lot of assumptions about what I believe in. Believing in free markets is not synonymous with belief in zero regulations and in supply side only economics.

You all need to get off of your ideological biases. BOTH the GOP and the Dems are wrong. They are both very far to the left and very far to the right. The proper approach is straight down the middle. Free markets work and have been the key driver of our economic prosperity. Where we have failed is in regulating them properly. Our institutions are failing to keep markets free and regulated.
