Neeka I am in and out of writing depending on other things in life. Just a suggestion for a gift from you to your 6 yr. old grandson-----pay for him to have music lessons of some variety. Music is my passion----I have been teaching piano and find it personally rewarding to see the progress of the young ones. I have one young man who came to me about 3 years ago---------he has natural talent-------he has taught himself to know how to transpose from key to key. Then today I spent the afternoon with a young woman who has played professionally and is now ready to do a professional recording---------so a lot of research on copyrights . What we have discovered is that the best route is to compose and also to perform the song. That makes the song hers----both composing and performing. If she writes the song but does not perform it then it is difficult to protect one's authorship (copyright of the song) and any monetary gain if it becomes known. Dinner and a long nap and I am back to doing political writing and cooking for the weekend. Enjoy your Grandson and don't be concerned about the flow of messages-----I do not expect instant replies and don't feel ignored if people don't reply. After being away from the thread it is always fascinating to scan the messages and see the progresssion of thoughts regarding what I mssed. Best to you mj
