Asheville is on the list. One of my favorite towns. Totally liberal, hippies everywhere. Dozens of GREAT outdoor/indoor restaurants. Mountains all around. But it's a "big city" with big city problems. Traffic, crime, homelessness all that stuff. And expensive. Do I want that or do I want Mayberry? I don't know. It's a mind fuk. Seriously. Asheville has 80K people. That's hardly a big city. But if that's really how you feel, then Mayberry it is. ;) If you could just move anywhere, and were so busy you didn't really have time to think about it a lot, what would you do? So many +/- on everything, every place. I did that......I moved to Seattle. Its great. When you pick the place because it fits most of your needs and likes, it makes for a great living environment. But even after all that, there was a fly in the ointment. Seattle ain't the friendliest place in the world and it took a while to make friends. So I am not sure that throwing a dart at a dart board ain't the better approach. Besides, NC is a great state.......I think you won't got to far wrong picking a place there.
