"I was very interested in reading koan's initial reaction when McCain selected Palin as his VP. He did not disappoint. Within the hour, he was toeing the party line."

That's amazing.....even for him. No backbone whatsoever.

You should really decide if you want to try and understand the world, or if you just want to argue about it.

<<I changed my mind when the facts changed.>>

She started out a complete enigma i.e. a Republican taking on the oil companies in my state and anyone who stood in the way of raising taxes on the oil companies was unheard of in my state. Only dems did that. So we all lauded her. I think she had an 86% approval rating or something like that at one time.

And everyone loved her and were very surprised by her. But then we started to learn about her. First she was really Wally Hickels protege and doing his bidding. He bankrolled her campaign and it was he who wanted to take on the oil companies as he was fiercely dedicated to our state. Lots of people up here see themselves as separate from the lower 48. Sort of an independent country.

Then she and Hickel fought and Hickel disowned her and after she became governor she started pissing everyone off especially her own party. She cancelled a road her people wanted, wouldn't live in the governors mansion, but worked out of her house and claimed per diem, got the head of the troopers to go after a brother in law. Petty stuff like that, and started fighting with everyone. She went through something like 4 chiefs of staffs the first year. That part of her personality was not evident at the beginning.

Then when we got a good look at her during the presidential election and realized how little she knew about the world and that she was totally unprepared to be president we became horrified. One cannot be president if they do not understand basic foreign policy.

Rest of the story.
