That's your story ... a shift to a service economy started with Obama's election?

Actually, America's low natural gas is helping grow mfg jobs in the US.

It isn't quite so simple.

As Steve Jobs told Obama point-blank -- you have to create an environment where employers CAN hire people. And Obama has done the opposite.

It isn't unprecedented. The reason the Great Depression dragged on for more than 10 years was that FDR instituted the same kind of insane policies in the depths of it -- things that made it that much more difficult to hire people (like Social Security and unemployment insurance).

It is basic microeconomics. If you increase the cost of hiring by, for example, 10%, then it is that much tougher a climb to get to the point where you can hire the next guy. But what Obama has done is far worse: not only did he increase these direct costs, he has substantially increased the regulatory burden and destabilized the environment to the point where every business will hold of for as long as possible in hiring.

In addition, he has made every effort to give more power to the labor unions, which only further drives up the cost of hiring.

It is really stupid economic policy and it is what happens when you put a clueless, corrupt dolt in the White House. Learn from your mistakes.
