Gorgias once said that nothing can be known and even if it could be known it cannot not be conveyed. Socrates disagreed with him and also believed sophistry needed to have substance. Aristotle was in the process of writing down his system of philosophy and was strongly rebuked by Alexander the Great whose father paid handsomely for instruction by the philosopher. Alex did not believe this system of philosophy should be disseminated and shared as he felt it was bought and paid for. Ari explained that it was a memoir of his life, to show that he existed, something to be remembered by which was more important to the Greeks and Macedonians than it is to us.
