Words are relative to the intent of the writer. When I said I know her better than you, I figured the word "probably" was a truism. It was a casual comment based on the fact few people know her as well as those who live in her state. Most people live outside her state. If you did know her better, a more proper response would have been to just say so. This gotcha stuff based on every word leads no where. That is just arguing. People should try to communicate, not try, not to communicate.
