Of course I disagree with your flippant dismissal of the Gospels as symbolic "stories" that have no basis in Space and Time and History You see What science is attempting to deeply descibe is about as close to the "Eternal" as you can get , whether you're talking evolution of the planet & life of 4bil yrs or the evolution of the galaxies & the Universe itself which is longer still . This is as close to eternity as yours or any mind can get, trust God on that and no ones being flip but you , so return to your gospels but learn to look at what science reveals as supporting what the Gospels tried to allude to & you'll come around some day . (Bible was science for its day , no longer) It may seem to you that it's taking too long but that's because God is being gracious. Crucifying his own Son & allowing more than a dozen more centuries go by with all that suffering and you call that being gracious ? I would rather see you learn to be gracious in this lifetime than wait for this God to get a conscience finally . (but Nature i can forgive )

And i answered you thoughtfully describing three religions having the same roots , similar messages & deeply felt truths but falling prey to exactly that dysfunctional disasterous situation you describe above . And they have been doing this for centuries already so stop with the drama of this being something new. And i offered you an explanation of these religious truths being adapted to different societies with self interest & entertwined in those separate social orders which is very Darwinian for look at the resulting competition that rises up ? And they all teach peace , humility & submission to truth and still the fighting goes on over silliness & petty differences that science does not recognize but religion somehow does . And you say that its a sign of Jesus returning which is your big mistake , why this happens again & again by people exactly like you needing some return of Jesus to make it all right . Well news flash you had better go back & reread what the rabbii said after spending that time on earth & gave up his life till ---->"it is finished" ? What you need to do is live the truth , for them to live their truths respectively & stop resorting to more stupid things like who ascended to heaven or not , or who's returning or not . Now you're sounding just like the Iranians who await their 12th mullah /messiah and its pure nonsense , there are kids today that are getting the message all over the world & not waiting for anyone .

Since you are a Christian who likes to hang out on a science thread & make lots of noise , did oblige your chosen subject & asked you if you knew what is possibly one of the fastest growing ministries in the post war US? You didn't respond to what would be an important thing to know for you & science is about knowing . Was being serious and will be gracious with you & share it this easter , they are called "Jesus Culture" and originated in my great state up in the north in Redding , Ca . They seem to be quite successful in what they do, since 1000's of young people trek to their concerts wherever they travel & set up these gatherings around the world . en.wikipedia.org Maybe these kids are your "Jesus Returning" and you just missed it ?
