Arun, to anyone who thinks reality is an illusion, I say jump off a tall building to see how illusory it is, or better, run nose first into the side of it so that subsequently one is still around to contemplate the effects on one's consciousness.

The fact that consciousness is tricky doesn't mean it's not grounded in and a manifestation of hard reality. Consciousness isn't a vapid thing, it's simply the interaction of wet chemistry in our heads with itself and the senses which connect to reality. How it does it is tricky but it's obviously just wiring. No magic needed. Take away the wiring bit by bit and watch the mystical "self" diminish then disappear.

Those philosophers got tangled up with their own lack of identity; their illusion about themselves. As usual, being mystics, they try to get OTHER people to accept that the philosophers have the dinkum oil and should go along with the philosopher's ideas. < In this example, Nagarjuna uses the magician's illusion to show that the self is not as real as it thinks, yet, to the extent it is inside the illusion, real enough to warrant respecting the ways of the world. > Okay, Nagajuna wasn't as real as he thought. He's welcome to suit himself.
