I only read parts of it later in life, but that is probably the book to start ones intellectual search with as it gives such a great overview of civilzation. I did notice it has become dated with new ideas. He married a smart woman and then educated her and she caught up with him intellectually and they wrote the books together. I saw Chris Hays this morning and they were discussing Romney's troubles with women even when gov of Mass. He only has one woman, Meg Whitman, in his inner circle of 40. It was my thought that he is simply carrying on his Mormon tradition which does not include women in major decision making. A woman who is an expert on the supreme court said the Republican's came out of 08 with brass knuckles to stop any dem court nomination and in her opinion, the left must fight them with brass knuckles.
