Paul,
I don't have any problem with Mr. Freeman expressing his opinion, it makes sense to me, just like many other opinions expressed in this thread. We need a little reality check once in a while (I've seen people here really get carried away). However, we don't need to turn our discussion here into a brawl. Darlene, thanks for your research, you may be the reason why I got into BCMD before even doing my own DD :-), and made money on it. I sold at 1.5. It's just a stock, let's not forget that. I don't think the management cares as much about its shareholders as some people here care about BCMD. We are all here to make money (at least I hope so).

Paul: In my opinion this was a very good JV deal.

To begin with the agreement states very clearly that, "Sterling Mining LLC will receive a 30% interest in the current Brush Creek gold properties."

This agreement is for 30% of the "current" "gold properties" only. So that immediately eliminates the JV from receiving any part of the diamondiferous ground BCMD controls and it also eliminates any future acquisitions that BCMD makes. There are rumors that they may be acquiring some other gold interests. However I have not been able to substantiate that particular rumor.

It would be natural though to assume a company like BCMD may be acquiring more interests down the road escpecially when they have a CEO as agressive as Jim Chapin appears to be. How many shareholders do you know of that can successfully take over a company like BCMD?

As far as other JV agreements go here are some you might find interesting:

Goldmint Explorations Ltd JV Barton Bay Resources
50% interest in their gold property for $100,000. July 18, 1997

Reunion Mining PLC of London JV First Quantum Minerals Ltd
42.5% for $1.5 mil November 11, 1996

BMA Mining JV Northpoint Resources Ltd
50% for $175,000

ARGENTINA GOLD JV WESTERN MINING CORPORATION
60% for $22 mil December 4. 1995

EXPLORATION MIRANDOR INC. JV POD AND DARKSTAR
60% for $2 mil November 5, 1996
lino.com

Asia Minerals JV Zhaoyuan Gold Corp
50/50 for$36 mil each Oct 28, 1997
asia-minerals.com

Canarc Resource Corp JV Placer Dome
60% for $20.3 mil over 5 years Nov. 13, 1997
pathfinder.com

Glenmore Highlands Inc JV Monopros
60% for $10 mil November 24, 1997

I hope this helps to give you an idea why I feel 30% of only BCMD's current gold property for $9 million is quite an impressive JV agreement.
