In response to your series of self-serving questions let me state that your definition of "a true long term investor -- would not be even watching the earning come out", is spurious!

My personal decisions as to why I may read a thread once again is irrelevant as to my long term investing strategies.

James -- I am sorry to say but your "Tuesday" is going to look like someone spanked you too hard upside your head.

The mean estimate of 34 analysts surveyed by First Call is for earnings of around 65 cents per share. Estimate excludes a charge related to early debt retirement.

Analysts polled by Dow Jones expects Dell to beat the official estimate by around 2 cents although the whisper number has moved higher (68). One MW belives earnings could come in at 68 to 69 cents because of the potential for stronger than expected sales of server computers.
Research firm Dataquest said Compaq, Dell & HP ranked 1,2 & 3 respectively, all gained sigificant PC market share in the 3rd Q. Dell, which specializes in direct sales moved from third to second place in the U.S. in the 3 Q, which had a 10.3% market share as shipments soared 74.3%.

M. Dell on CNBC tomorrow morning for braging rights or fire control?

re: A true long term investor, and a true believer of Dell would not be even watching the earning come out.

By the same reasoning, I guess a convinced bear wouldn't either?

As a matter of fact, I did quit reading and posting on the DELL thread for a while. One of the reasons is that I am not worried about DELL's long term future. I KNOW it is up, as long as the world continues to use computers, and DELL continues to execute.

I came back because the number of bears spreading FUD about DELL might have influenced newer DELL shareholders, who are taking their first steps in investing and managing their own funds, to sell their shares.
I don't mind shorts making a profit on DELL. I do mind their making every effort to hurt others in doing so.
