>>I'm not talking about "some quarters" - I'm talking about me. While you guys were all a-flutter about how expensive the iPad was going to be, and would it even sell, I was "predicting" it would come in under $500 and sell by the tens of millions. <<

Don't lump me in with that set of predictions. I don't believe I ever said anything about the iPad being expensive. I do recall saying that I didn't know if it would sell well or not, because there was no data either way.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I feel like you've said a lot of things in the past that are very similar to what you're saying now. And then you've gone ahead and bought a bunch of new Apple gear every year.

Am I off base? Is this the chemo brain talking? ;-) I might be doing some lumping in, myself.

Apple's biggest challenge is in continually topping itself, and people like you are one barometer of how well they're doing at that. But I think you have a tendency to look at the negative side of things, just as I have a tendency to look on the bright side. And all I can say is that Apple's performance over the years would seem to vindicate the rosier view. Whether that will continue to be the case is, of course, something that remains to be seen.
