This is ridiculous. Any individual of substantial wealth (100s of millions) should, I hope, consider offshore accounts for a portion of his/her cash. It is excellent insurance against unforeseen events in the United States. Cheap insurance, in fact. Practically anyone of substantial wealth might be expected to have one or more Swiss or other bank accounts. What we have is the liberal media, and the Obama administration, playing on the ignorance of the American public to attempt to smear a person. They know what you've seen in the movies, they know you're stupid enough to eat that crap up, and they are using it against their political enemies. >> Swiss bank accounts offer numerous advantages for customers concerned with privacy ........what has Romney to hide?? Some Swiss accounts do offer the feature of privacy -- but they certainly don't accommodate illegal transactions. Why would a person worth $250 Million not put at least a few million in an account in a country other than the United States? Not doing so would be downright stupid. I don't know anything about your medical practice, but if you are a sole practitioner, you have no doubt incorporated. Some might look at that and say, "What's that fucking doctor doing with that corporation? Trying to beat the government out of tax money or trying to protect himself from liability? What a scoundrel." But people who are informed recognize that it is an essential thing for every physician's practice to be incorporated. You wouldn't THINK of operating your business without that protection. And if you did, anyone who was informed about such matters would think you'd lost it. Lots of standard business practices can be questioned by the uninformed, just as you've done with Romney's Swiss account. But those who are informed look at it and say, "Well, he'd be damned idiot if he DIDN'T." Just as you wouldn't think of operating your medical practice without corporate protection. It would be stupid to do it.
