There was a creek along the way to the bus for me too. I knew every inch of it for maybe a mile down stream. Never went upstream much. Salamanders, small fish, muskrat and the typical critters. I remember The Old Tree and it was impressive because it grew over the water a bit. I saw it after I was older and it sure did look much smaller.

If he goes to prison he will have to be in protective custody for quite some time. If released to general population he would have to join a very strong gang for protection and he could still be killed. He didn't seem like the aggressive type at all.
