Wait for it. Heard that financial institutions are back at the sketchy loan practices that pummelled the economy into the recession. Have it happen on Harper's watch, no difference, put someone else in and we head for the toilet anyway. We want so much, but do not want the fiscal responsibility that comes with it.

A little less support for the world's ailments would suit me just fine as well. Let's stop shelling out our tax dollars to other countries because it is not doing any good.

Now we are going to accept Syrian refugees under the guise of a humanitarian crisis, and after the immigration minister stated that Canada would look at more skilled immigration. This is just going to cost us money, but it is what Canadians want, we just aren't asked.

Would also appreciate the likes of the Auditor General to do his homework properly instead of just looking at numbers for the Defence Department. I can accept his frailties because he is a bean counter, but the likes of Rae, Mulcair and critics of a major defence purchase need to be keel hauled. Jumping on a report that is flawed because it does not consider all the aspects of a major crown procurement is criminal The only people lying to Canadians are Rae, Mulcair and the critics. Haven't these Ottawa idiots heard of Walmart economics 101 - savings through bulk buying, and not being the solo member on the block? Let's do a competitive process, get a cheaper less capable aircraft for our sons and daughters. Since we will be the only country with it the O&M costs will far exceed the F-35. Let's not discuss the costs to date for R&D, and personnel support.

Isn't there anything else of note in the report?

Let's not forget that Chretian stood up in the House and told Canadians that the UK submarines were a good buy at $1B. Seems no one asked the question about what the cost was to get them to a Canadian operational standard, and operate them over the expected life expectancy.

Remember the EH-101. A $500M fiasco that we know of (with soft costs probably closer to $1.5B) - didn't the Liberals write that cheque and get nothing for it? The Dutch capitalized on our R&D and ferry our troops in Afghanistan with that well developed aircraft - good public policy and fiscal astuteness by the Liberals.

So let's crucify Harper for something he didn't put in place. Let's flog those who voted for the Liberal dynasty that was a key player in the CMHC fiasco. Let's also flog ourselves for voting for those who made it easy for CMHC to get into this position instead of applying the tough love that was needed in years gone by.

Lastly, let's vote for the politician who would have the backbone to stand up to Canadians and tell them what was really needed, instead of voting for promise and hope. Let's vote for the politician who would tell Canadians that the stimulus package was stupid and achieved nothing. I am quite certain that there isn't anyone in the political stables of this stature.

There are also more Liberal banker buddies out there than Conservative, John Turner comes to mind. Not many western boys on Bay Street. "Shit Kickers" aren't in vogue or wanted in downtown TO, or in Ontario according to McGuinty.

You state "in general people are that stupid and greedy", if so then our politicians are little more than parrots who jump on the flavour of the day to strut their stuff, and get reelected. I submit that most have an inadequate depth of knowledge and experience that is of any benefit to us.

Who is there to vote for, Rae - he screwed Ontario, imagine what he could do with the Federal coffers; Mulcair - an NDP program would bankrupt Canada as well. I would also not like the taxes that the middle class would cough up in support.

JMHO
