I wrote a paper on Lamia in University in my mythology course (Prof was totally unprepared for this!). Keats drew on a lot of literature and myth in his poems. One really needs to read Lamia with a rough concordance of sorts. Cliff notes won't do it! It is a difficult read. Every line is a challenge.

"Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent. Yet women will be saved through bearing children."

That Timothy was a great guy!

Any women on this thread? Don't answer. Keep your snaky mouths shut! Be obedient and bear children.
