I thought this might be the case....Rick Perry is a lot better than he was during the debates.....I'm sure the media will try to make a big deal of this too....

REPORT: Rick Perry Was On Painkillers During The GOP Debates Grace Wyler|April 02, 2012|

1,762| 22

Rick Perry was using painkillers to alleviate severe back pain during last fall's Republican presidential debates, a fact that could help explain the Texas Governor's campaign-killing gaffes and onstage meltdowns, according to a soon-to-be-released e-book from Politico's Mike Allen and Evan Thomas.

That Perry was using prescription drugs during the debates was something of an open secret on the campaign trail. The 62-year-old underwent serious experimental back surgery just weeks before launching his presidential campaign, and aides often admitted privately that Perry still suffered serious pain, especially after long periods of standing.

But the extent of Perry's painkiller loopiness detailed by Allen and Thomas is hysterical.

The Daily Caller's Alex Pappas, who obtained an early copy of the e-book, pulls out this anecdote, in which a rival campaign manager overheard Perry belting out "I've Been Working On The Railroad" in the bathroom before the October debate at Dartmouth College.

Here's the excerpt, via Pappas:

“Wondering who was making all the noise, the campaign manager turned his head and saw, to his surprise, the governor of Texas,” the book states. “Perry came down the row of about twenty urinals and stood companionably close by.

Allen and Thomas continue: “Nonplussed, the campaign manager made a hasty exit; as the bathroom door closed, he could hear Perry still merrily singing away: “I-I-I’ve been working on the ra-a-i-i-l-road, all-l-l the live-long day . . .”

You've just got to love Glenn Reynolds....here's his take on the slam/slight to Ann Romney:

THE DEMOCRATS’ WAR ON WOMEN (CONT’D): Hillary Rosen: Ann Romney never worked a day in her life.

Hillary Rosen — longtime paid shill for the recording industry’s efforts to seize control of your computer — has never done a day’s honest work in her life. That’s more truthful than what she says about Ann Romney . . . .

UPDATE: Reader Ignatz Kant writes: “Ann Romney raised 5 children, fought multiple-sclerosis and beat cancer. Rosen just fired the first volley in the Democrat’s war on stay-at-home moms.”

When John Edwards pretended to stick by his wife with cancer, the media made a big deal out of it. When Mitt Romney actually did it, it was a nonstory. Keep rockin’!

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't believe Romney can carry Pennsylvania or Virginia no matter who he picks; I still think he can win though.
