Which is why Obama advocates a combination of returning to certain sensible pre-Bush tax cut levels AND cutting costs. One side has signed a pledge to a lobbyist and will obstruct even reductions in tax loopholes and, ironically corporate welfare subsidies that have no ROI for the country. Obama has shown a desire and willingness to compromise in the American political tradition -- before lobbyists captured 99% of the GOP and a bunch of Democrats too.
