Quite a screed. Do you drink? If so, you're the worst druggie of all and are a contributor to your country's biggest drug problem. Simple as that. So please defer all the anti-drug preaching and posturing as it only makes you look ridiculous and hypocritical.

My hand-eye coordination, generally fairly good under normal circumstances, improves (or at one time improved, I should say) with a bit of ETOH.

I was famous in my 20s for being a pinball wizard at the local watering holes after a couple of beers.

Crazy, eh?

I could play for free as long as I wanted. I often got bored and would add a little pizzaz to things by turning around momentarily so as to lose track of the ball and, of course, amaze my friends and delight the ladies as I recovered instantly and continuted to play, soundly beating the machine.

Of course, if I had just a bit too much, the effect disappeared and I was a regular schmoe. The trick was to imbibe just the right amount. I could nearly feel the electricity flow, the neurons crank up, the brain instantly and accurately command the hand. But note: I couldn't play worth a damn when sober despite what I consider to be better than average hand eye coordination. It really did take a bit of booze to lubricate the neural pathways and limber up the fine muscles.

This was a long time ago, haven't played pinball in ages.

I think most stimulants in moderation are probably OK. Just look at all the cardiac benefits a glass of wine a day provides. However, anything that is smoked can't be good to the lungs and should be avoided. I figure anything that leaves the user prostrate or hung over or wiped out after use cannot be good.

One of my old friends in Mexico took LSD when young. Formerly a brilliant guy, he became a mess, a real shame because he was quite intelligent, the world was before him. I understand he barely functions now. So, yes, there are risks which shouldn't be taken....tell that to the young

My son, 15 years old, is very much anti-drug. He understands the plasticity of the brain at that age and knows that it is the instrument that will get him through life. Quite practical, he does not want to fool with the tool that will ensure his survival.
