He was absolutely correct and I don't see the big deal. Those progressives are proud of themselves and imo should tell us all about it. A discussion I welcome.

Interesting. If you quote both sentences, rather than only the first one, the meaning is quite different. The implication is NOT that those 80 Dems are card carrying Commies, but that the Regressive Caucus itself is as good as a communist party. When only the first sentence is quoted, it does sound a bit strange. With the second - agree or disagree, but it makes sense.
