I was almost fluent in Spanish when I was a kid, dad was stationed in Peru for 3 years. I quickly forgot most of it when we came back to the states. I gave up alcohol in 82. Prior to that, when I'd knock back a few and if I was around Spanish speaking people, it all came back. It rolled off the tongue like I'd never stopped speaking it.

You can also come up with bad ideas under the influence, but there's a definite link with creativity.
