>> Today, Democrats call these programs “investments in the future”

Government spending has risen from ~7% of GDP around 1900 to about 43% in the last two years under Obama.

This is NOT about "investment". It is about a government that has grown so big and inefficient that it simply cannot function in a manner that conserves money.

The recent GSA blow up is a perfect example. If you cannot look at that and realize that government is wasting your tax dollars then you are blind. Just multiply this absurd spending binge times the thousands of government agencies and you can quickly see why our debt has brought us to the brink of collapse (and ultimately, IMO, will eventually take us to a complete economic collapse).

It is the government's nature to be inefficient and ineffectual. In my work life I have dealt extensively with government agencies, including the Treasury Dept (notably IRS), SSA, CMS, state Medicaid programs, and a few others. During this time the ONLY agency I ever saw run effectively was Texas Dept. of Revenue under Bob Bullock. That's the ONLY agency, federal or state, that has been well-managed. A total outlier. It ought to tell you something when areas around DC have the highest incomes in the country.

I just ask you to point to a few examples where your federal government has provided value to the taxpayers. You would think there would be a few. But you can't point to one that inarguably provides good value to the taxpayers.
