Once you have been convicted of a drug felony, even possession of small amounts of marijuana, there is zero opportunity for meaningful employment. Zero. Which doesn't serve anyone's interests. A person who can't work anywhere else ismgoing to find work on the streets. Drug felonies should be reserved for the most hard core offenders .. As when violence is involved.

Can't speak for others, but I fully understand it. And while I don't say we should do the same, I think it has proven beyond any doubt that harsh law enforcement is not the way to reduce drug use.
