I don't believe you are capable of understanding this issue. You are just so dug in to a position that makes no sense, whatsoever, that you can't get past it.

Painkillers have been a problem for years, possession of them without an Rx has been illegal for years, and yet, painkiller addiction is at an all time high in this country. Some buy it legally; others just buy it from someone who has an Rx.

Marijuana is a totally different issue; the biggest problem we have with it is that the kids who start using marijuana during teen years are more likely to end up addicted to other substances because of their proximity.

There are no marijuana addicts. There are only marijuana users who have become addicts because marijuana is illegal just like painkillers.

As to Portugal you cannot argue with the facts: Since decriminalization marijuana and other drug use has DROPPED amongst teens and young adults. Period. For some reason you continue to argue with success. I wonder what that reason is.
