Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful post.

A few years ago I passed a milestone my company felt was worthy of a hall of fame celebration. My immediate boss wanted me to accept it, but I turned it and him down. He kept bugging me, as awards were important to him and I kept turning it down.

Then a while later the really big boss of the whole state phoned me and I turned it down again. And I told him and this is the god's truth: "I said: "Plato would not approve of it". I told him, I am just here to make a living. Nothing else.

He was quite upset at first, but years later at a dinner I had a chance to speak with him personally and I explained it had to do with my philosophy of life and he felt better and doesn't think me as crazy anymore. But I never accepted that award, and have told the company I work for not to issue any awards to me and have thrown all the other ones away I got earlier in my career.

No one else seems to understand what I am doing."

I sent your video on Fenyman to my son in law who has a PHD in atmospheric chemistry from UC Irving and studies AGW as a tenured professor at a north western university. Below is his response.

Wise words from a brilliant mind. I enjoy his interviews, which you can get online nowadays.

I wonder what he did with his Nobel prize cash? I doubt he returned it, but who knows...
